Sharefish, Not Selfish
Leadership
10-22-2009
Taken in its entirety, this years speaker series
has illustrated the diversity of leadership styles and
attributes that are represented within our local community.
While Greg Clary clearly articulated the Mi-Co technology,
strategy, and product line, his time was equally focused
upon another passion, the creation of suitable housing
and educational opportunities in Honduras; one of the
worlds most economically challenged countries.
Familiar concepts, like getting the right people on
the bus, building enduring and close relationships,
were woven back and forth between Gregs professional
and philanthropic pursuits. It was obvious that he had
determined that good leadership skills were to be practiced
and developed in, as well as out, of the workplace.
Setting a good example was at the cornerstone of his
belief system.
Upon leaving, the comparative advantages of electronic
data capture, from the perspectives of ease of use,
accuracy, and cost were readily apparent to everyone
that attended. Just as obvious, however, was Gregs
call to action and service, and the responsibilities
to lead ones larger community. Should anyone have
been moved to act, Greg referenced the not-for-profit
Sharefish, as a great vehicle to get the process started.
